13th International Convention on Sustainable Tourist Development YPERIA 2015
The Cultural Association of Tholaria – Amorgos and Aegialis Hotel & Spa are pleased to announce
YPERIA 2015, the 13th International Convention on Culture & Tourism,
which will take place from the 21st to the 26th of October, on the Greek island of Amorgos.
This International Meeting aims to promote Amorgos as an island rich in traditions, customs and culture.
Journalists, tourism professionals, producers and distinguished people from around the world are invited to participate and contribute to the promotion of the event through newspaper & magazine articles, films or documentaries, as well as through advertisements of the island and the works presented during the Convention.
The event is organized around three axes:
– Day visits and walks around the Island – as a press trip
– Conferences in the evening on culture and sustainable tourism
– Screening of The International Short Tourism Film Festival of Amorgos
During YPERIA Convention, participants will discover the island, walk the ancient hiking paths, visit the historical monuments, collect aromatic herbs from the mountains, visit the essential oil distillery laboratory, enjoy local products, attend traditional festivities and get introduced to the work of different artists through exhibitions (ceramic, photography, handicraft).
The 6th International Short Tourism Film Festival of Amorgos will also take place in the context of YPERIA 2015.
The main scope of discussion of YPERIA 2015 will be: “AMORGOS: TRAILS FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE. Socio-economic, cultural and environmental prospects” with the following topics:

Conferences will take place every evening from 19.30 in Aegialis Hotel & SPA, after one hour screening of the 6th International Short Tourism Film Festival of Amorgos.
All evening screenings and conferences are open to the public so that people of Amorgos and visitors can participate and acquire information about what is going on in other areas in the fields of culture and tourism.
The Convention will be held in English.
