AMORGOS, the easternmost island of the Greek Cyclades is a stunner,
with whitewashed houses, trestled alleyways and fiery rust sunsets ...

Yoga on the Rocks

Yoga on the Rocks, Amorgos

In May, when the island is still green and full of flowers, the IRIS studio invite you to embark on a four day yoga and hiking adventure. It will be an inner and outer adventure where yoga stands for the inner and the hiking for the outer.

Yoga is like a journey inside ourselves where we explore every sensation in our bodies and minds. It is about self-discovery, about exploring and challenging our abilities and going beyond our comfort zone. In practicing Yoga we expand our awareness of the body, mind and spirit. Yoga gives us strength, balance and flexibility in our bodies but also in our minds, which in turn prepares us to relate to the outer world and all its ups and downs in a more relaxed and balanced way. By cultivating awareness and sharpening our senses we become more present in the moment, more alive and vibrant.

The hiking stands for the outer adventure. Here we bring with us the awareness of body, breath and mind, the strength, the balance and alertness that yoga teaches us. Amorgos is an astonishing beautiful island with many captivating places to explore. There are also a great amount of paths connecting many of those places and during these four days we will track down a few of them.

The ups and downs that the mountains of Amorgos present give us a perfect opportunity to practice balance and awareness of every step, every breath and every movement. With our senses wide open the nature gives us infinite experiences of beauty and magic. The Yoga practice takes part in the IRIS Studio, but of course we will try some of the postures out there, on the rocks!
