More and more art and culture related issues become an important part of the touristic business. ART&TUR Festival is an well established European festival and conference event in portugal presenting the best films promoting tourism from many countries of the world in serveral categories. It was held in Barcelos, Portugal on 23rd to 26th of September, 285 films from 35 countries were sent for content. Beside the film festival itself touristic topics are presented on the conference connected to to the film festival.
This year Vangelis Vassalos (herb expert Iamata, Langada) was invited to present herbs and plants from Amorgos in a workshop (harvest, cultivation and refinement) at the conference.
Amorgos had a nice presence at the film festival. Irene Yannakopoulos (Aegialis Hotel & Spa) attended the festival as a film critic and as representative of the Yperia festival that takes place in the Aegialis Hotel every Easter.
The well known photographer Carlos Sargedas presented his photos from Amorgos – Amorgos – 3 days of snapshots by Carlos Sargedas in an exhibition at the Barcelos Youth House (we will show you some of his pictures in the magazine soon!)
