Over the past 15 years, one could say that some of the Amorgian locals took advantage of the building boom to upgrade their plumbing. Bathrooms and showers look nice today, well maintained and clean. Nevertheless, some of the techniques used remain hazardous and it often takes some imagination on behalf of the owners to fix an obsolete toilet. Take a look at this picture, and enjoy the ingeniosity of local plumbing.

Wendula, just saw this for the first time. Love it- I’ve seen lots of things like it, not just on the island, but in Athens too. BUT- this is the “work” of somebody who did not want to pay a good plumber. You’re in Tholaria and know that Lambros, one of the best plumbers I’ve ever met, lives there. Still, gotta love amateur ingenuity…

Thanks for the comment, Bradley. Lambros is certainely the most reliable plumber on Amorogs. When he was working in my house, he poured a big saussage of cement on my bathroom floor and plumped the toilet on top. “That’s it, he said. Finished my job”. I only coold make round eyes. “What ! Your leaving it like that ? With all the cement everywhere !” He chukkled and all the other workers laught. At the end of the day, I have the finest sanitary installation in my house. Besides being an excellent plumber he also has a good sense of humour.
